Eielson Visitor's Center in Denali National Park, Alaska is a green building - Happy Thanksgiving!

Eielson Visitor's Center in Denali National Park, Alaska (which I visited this summer) is a green building. Learn more from the National Park Service website here. Below is a picture I took at Eielson visitors center on my visit in June. If you look closely there's a small bear cub near the center of the photo that took an interest in the visitors center. The cub's mother and sibling were close by. It was about 9 pm at night on the last bus trip of the day to Wonder Lake.

New Animal Collective track: Brothersport, Auto Industry Bail Out, Subway grades, Google SketchUp 7

Animal Collective's newest album (coming out in January 2009 - album cover above) is called Merriweather Post Pavilion and the released track "Brothersport" can be found for a limited time here as acbrothersport.mp3. Animal Collective hosted a listening party on October 28, 2008 up on 145th St.

Robert Goodman has a NY Times Op-Ed "Have You Driven a Bus or a Train Lately?," which suggests that if we bail out the auto industry they should be forced to be transportation companies that focus on transportation as a whole rather than just auto companies.

I watched the session on the auto-industry bailout last night and have to give the Rep. Senator from Tenn. a lot of credit. He asked tough questions. They all did. Rightly so, because it is the taxpayers money. He wondered aloud-why should we help all three-maybe one of the three big auto companies should fail! Perhaps we should consider funding alternative energy startup companies.

The recent subway grades reported on at the NY Times; "No. 7 and L Subway Lines Maintain Their C Averages."

A slew of NY Times articles:image from NY Times
Just got a copy of the Conor Oberst album from my buddy on his visit to NYC from San Diego,CA., first in a while under his real name and not Bright Eyes, and have found a few of the songs to be pretty enjoyable. Haven't really been much of a Bright Eyes fan but I liked Cassadaga. The times just gave this review of his latest show at Terminal 5 with supporting act Ben Kweller.

Brooklyn's latest Biotech boom??? read about it here.

And are American's wisening up and consuming less? Well some think it could have a catastrophic effect. How do we consume less and keep the economy going?

Climate for Change, Pres. and Planet on a Budget, ESRI ArcGIS 9.3 SP 1 released, DSNY stops leaf composting program due to high cost, and Ninjasonik!

Congrat's to Barack Obama and his campaign. Senator McCain and Obama both made great speeches after the results were in. Barack's speech was inspiring and McCain showed grace in defeat despite a bitter audience in Arizona.

Al Gore's Op-Ed "The Climate for Change" from the New York Times and also "The President and the Planet, on a Budget" from Dot Earth Blog.

ESRI ArcGIS 9.3 Service Pack 1 has been released. Loads of things were addressed using the Error Reporting tool. Request a DVD or download here.

New York City Department of Sanitation stopped its fall leaves composting program due to high costs.

And Bushwick, BK's very own Ninjasonik and their latest video to "art school girls" mentioned in FREEWilliamsburg blog!
