Along this section of Baxter St. near Columbus Park in Chinatown New York City Court Offices have been throwing out massive amounts of old, yet still usable, office furniture. As of Sunday there was a dumpster full of chairs which were subsequently smashed one by one to fit into the container. I had no camera with me but would have liked to take a picture to illustrate the irony of what was going on versus Bloomberg's aggressive environmental PlanNYC program.Couldn't they donate these chairs and furniture to a needy organization or even to another department within the city?
